AWESOMENESS in the HOUSE!

the era of awesomeness has begun.

Please pray for my cousin, Christian Digamon. He was 10 years old when he died today due to an asthma attack . . . He had pneumonia . . . Medyo mahirap lang para sa'kin kasi nung Christmas lang namin siya nakilala, as in 'yun talaga 'yung first time, and akala ko magkakahiyaan kami, pero sobrang friendly niya at mabait at masipag at matalino . . . He's like the little brother that my sister and I never had. Christian, wherever you are right now, I hope you're happy. We love you. :) May you rest in peace. We'll always pray for you.

Jan. 18, 2011: Blessed.

Thank you Lord! I passed both my first and second choices in UST, ECE and Civil Engineering. It’s an honor for me to pass! Actually, my dad submitted my application form Oct. 24, six days before the 2nd USTET. Kung ‘di pa dahil sa constant insisting from my parents and friends, baka ‘di ko pa ‘to naasikaso on time. Pero buti nalang! Thank you Lord for guiding me, for helping me pass. :)

I took only one entrance exam aside from USTET. And that was the UPCAT. And the results?

Thank you ulit Lord! Thank you thank you thank youuuuuuuuu! I’m forever blessed. I passed my first campus choice and course choice in my dream university! Thank you Lord for giving me strength dun sa three months from May to August akong nagre-review gabi-gabi . . . Hay! Salamat talaga, Lord. I won’t fail you or anyone else who believes in me. Kakayanin ko kahit anumang pagsubok ang darating . . . :)

Family Reunion in Bohol: Dec. 24, 2011

After eating breakfast we started making the mango float already. Hahaha! I made it with my sister, Ate Jessica, Christian and Ate Joanne. It’s fun to make food for Christmas Eve when you’re with your family! :) Haha. After making two batches, nakatulog nanaman kami ng kapatid ko! :)) Well, I guess ganun talaga, grab every chance you can get to sleep lalo ‘pag bakasyon! When we woke up it was late afternoon, then we went to the other house, Uncle Junior’s house. They were singing kasi may karaoke, at may disco lights pa sila! Hahaha!

Ate Chona, Ate Ytette, Kuya Joemar (Uncle Junior’s 4th child and only son; he’s taking Architecture somewhere in Bohol I dunno the name of the university eh) and Maritcho (youngest, Grade 6) were there, along with Aunt Marsha (Uncle Junior’s wife), Kuya Ruel (Ate Chona’s boyfriend—yes boyfriend, ilang years nang magkasama ‘tong dalawang ‘to pero di pa rin nagpapakasal!) and Kuya Mark (Ate Ytette’s boyfriend). So yeah, kumakanta sila at nagpaparty . . . They were drinking champagne too. Tapos sabi nila uminom daw kami, tapos sabi ‘di naman kami pwede. Tapos sabi ni Ate Chona, pwede daw sabi ni mama! Haha! Pero onti lang. So she took two glasses then poured champagne, half full :p Onti pala ‘yun sa kanya :)) It tasted alright. Medyo lasang Sprite na pinatamis. Hahaha! Paonti-onti lang naman pag-inom ko, except nung paubos na . . . Didn’t go wild though, medyo sumakit lang ulo. :p Ate Cheche came too, but she didn’t drink much. We also sang in the karaoke haha. Then dad called us to prepare for the Simbang Gabi.

After having dinner, we walked to the church at around 10:10p.m. because the mass would start at 10:30p.m. Jam-packed na ‘yung church! :p We were standing and there was almost no room inside. We stood there for two hours, kasi medyo mahaba ‘yung mass tapos ang daming ginagawa, Simbang Gabi nga naman. The choir was lead by Tita Cora’s brother who is also a teacher and is gay, but he’s really good! As in. Haha. We left the church a few minutes before 12:30a.m. Grabeng tagal, noh? :))

We went home to our grandparents’ house first with Mama Choly. She brought pizza! Pero not known brand, at nakalimutan ko na rin ‘yung name. :)) But it’s delicious. :D I ate the lumpia that mom made. Hahaha! ‘Yun lang ata. There was cake too, but I told myself I’ll eat it the next day. Then I asked mom where the mango float was (because it’s my favorite dessert during Christmas hihi) and she said it hasn’t hardened that much yet because one of the two containers had no lid haha! So yeah. After that we went to the other house, Uncle Junior’s house, and ate there too. :)) They had barbecue, yey! :))

Ate Cristy, one of our cousin teachers I told you about, came with her husband Kuya Seglenn and their 1- or 2-year-old baby girl, KC! She’s so curly-haired and singkit just like her! Haha! As in, sobrang cute. They were playing some modern party songs, and she was dancing, copying the moves she’s seeing from around her! Haha! Cuuute!! Then they say “KC, lip sync!” and she would move her mouth around :)) But the cutest thing about her is that she’s always smiling!! Waa sobrang cute talaga :)) Cutest baby ever!! Haha!!

Oh, we also played some parlor games. Una, ‘yung dapat isusuksok ‘yung straw sa bote—but here’s the catch: Most of us there were girls, the only boys were Kuya Joemar and our cousins’ boyfriends or husband hahaha! So ‘yung bote nakaipit sa legs nila and we had to put the straw there using our mouths. But it was all good ‘cause it was family. B-) The second game was we put a toothpick each in our mouths then we had to pass a rubber band using the toothpicks. Ah basta! Ang galing nga ng strategy ni Kuya Ruel e hahaha!

After all that, Ate Joanne said goodbye and left with her sister and PJ and Ken. After a few minutes the four of us (me, Danielle, Ate Jessica and Ate Che-che) also said goodbye and went back to our grandparents’ house. Pero ‘di pa kami natulog!!! We played cards (‘yung paunahan at may iba-ibang actions ang King, Queen, Jack at Ace—‘di ko alam tawag sa game na ‘yun) and ate the mango float! Yey!! At success ang ginawa namin! Hahahaha! :p

We did all that until 4 in the morning. Grabe, nauna pa ngang matulog ‘yung kabilang bahay kesa sa’min. Hahaha!! Pero it was fun, welcoming the birth of Christ with your family. ;)

Family Reunion in Bohol: Dec. 23, 2011

So mom woke us up early in the morning and asked us if we want to go swimming. Yey! We prepared our stuff and left after eating breakfast, pero ‘di pa pala kami magsi-swimming, we attended the burial of our lola’s cousin’s husband, whom my sister and I have never met before. Kasi naman pinsan ni lola, eh far relatives naman na ‘yun ‘diba. We saw that the singers were Tita Cora (mom’s cousin) and her sister and brothers. We only know Tita Cora and not her siblings because she taught me how to play the piano when we stayed there for one summer (but I forgot na kasi chords ‘yun at ‘di ko na natuloy pag-uwing Laguna). She saw us there. Haha. And they buried the man and we left.

After that we went to a resort (I forgot the name sorry) and met our cousins from Uncle Yoven. Aside from the two I already mentioned, there are Kuya Ondoy (the youngest and the only son) and Ate Ekit, who is the only one staying in Cavite with her husband and daughter, Ysa. So Ate Lisa has two children, one is Ate Matet (yes she’s my niece but she’s older than me—she’s taking her first year of Med. Tech. in Cebu Doctors’ College) and the other is Anton, two or three or four years old? Like PJ, he was still a baby when I first saw him, and now he’s bigger! Ang cute pa niya kasi ang kulit at ang daldal. Hehe! Ate Yvonne also has two children, Angela and Ivan. Angela’s in first year while Ivan’s in grade five or six? The two of them along with Ate Matet and two more of our other cousins are our kalaro every time we come home in Bohol. :)) Kuya Ondoy also has two children, Hans, 7, and Halona, 2 or 3. Haha. Ayun, ang cute nila. :))

Sandali lang din kami nagswimming nun, we weren’t even swimming :)) Haha! We went home earlier than Uncle Yoven and the rest. Hehe. Tapos nakatulog pagkauwi. That was basically our day. :p

Family Reunion in Bohol: Dec. 22, 2011

We were actually awake 12a.m. this day, because our flight would be at 5:30a.m. I was surprised we were taking Philippine Airlines instead of our usual Cebu Pacific (which was the airlines that we used in two of our other trips this year—Iloilo and Palawan), though I can’t say it’s no better than the latter. The plane we rode on our way to Bohol had a screen at the top, and it also has a radio (I don’t think it really is a radio because it can interfere with the plane’s navigation or something) where you can put your headset on it. Hehe cool. We landed in Bohol a few minutes before 8 in the morning, and we waited like 30 minutes for our sundo to arrive. We headed to ICM (Island City Mall) to eat breakfast at Jollibee, while Mama Choly (our aunt and our grandparents’ eldest child, principal of our family’s school, Batuan Colleges Inc.) and mom bought food for Noche Buena at the grocery. (By the way, Uncle Junior, grandparents’ 3rd child, was our driver for the day. Haha.) That was in Tagbilaran, but our mom’s family lives in Batuan, which was a two- or three-hour drive from there. We arrived at around 12, and we saw lolo and lola, and we went to the next house and saw Ate Joanne (our cousin’s wife) and her two kids, PJ and Ken. It was our first time to see Ken, he’s the bunso. When we last saw PJ he was still a little baby with a big head!! Hahaha! Ang cute talaga, they’re all grown up!

We went to Balay sa Humay, kind of like a restaurant slash mini-museum of rice slash inn owned by Mama Choly, to have lunch with her and lola and lolo. They’re using red rice here na pala, I thought. I didn’t taste much of a difference from the white rice we use here in Laguna, but maybe it’s because I’m very matakaw and eat fast, since my cousin Ate Jessica (who is currently studying Nursing at the Adventist University of the Philippines) and my mom said that the red rice was sweeter. We also tasted their native chicken—that I tasted a difference from the usual chicken we eat, and it’s really tastier! After the hearty lunch lola took us to the huts or rooms where guests stay for a night—and guess what, we fell asleep there. My sister and I were in a different room from our parents’. Haha! I slept for one or two hours, but my sister was so knocked out so I just stayed with her until she woke up, which was at like 5 or 6p.m. Haha! Thank God for cell phone!

We went home to the house (it’s only two to three minutes away from the Balay sa Humay) and had dinner. We saw Ate Che-che, our 28-year-old cousin who I think has finished her master’s in Education. Woo! Oh, and by the way, a lot—as in A LOT of our relatives from our mother’s side are teachers! There are Uncle Yoven (our grandparents’ 2nd child), Aunt Feding (Uncle Yoven’s wife), Uncle Domie I think (our grandparents’ 5th child), Aunt Delin (7th child, her family lives in Pangasinan and we often see them when we go there; she’s a Science Coordinator by the way hehe), Aunt Baby (8th child and Ate Jessica’s mom; she’s not really a teacher but she taught for some time before she went to the US where they live now), Ate Yvonne (Uncle Yoven’s daughter), Ate Lisa (Uncle Yoven’s daughter), Ate Chona I think (Uncle Junior’s daughter, she taught for a while in BCI but she’s reviewing for the Bar Exam—yes, she took Law!), Ate Cristy (Uncle Junior’s daughter), Ate Ytette (Uncle Junior’s daughter), Ate Joanne, Ate Che-che, and others I don’t know or forgot haha. Hindi naman adik sa pagtuturo, noh? When I was younger I didn’t want to be a teacher kasi mao-overcrowd na. Haha! Hindi sa dinodown ko ang mga teachers, no, because I really do think being a teacher is a noble job. But I’m not one to join the flow and I know that teaching is not the right path for me. But I’m proud to say na wala pang engineer sa Digamon Clan, and if I do it well, I’ll be the first! Hihihihi!

So back to the real story where we saw Ate Che-che. She’s going with us to Jovit Baldivino’s concert at the Batuan Gymnasium. Haha! Christian (our 10-year-old cousin, Ate Che-che’s half brother; that was our first time to see him) went with us, too. We didn’t actually have tickets, but luckily Uncle Milan (6th child and youngest son, father of Ate Che-che and Christian) has connections and bought us tickets there. Ahahaha. The show was supposed to start at 7p.m. but it actually started at 8. Haha! Jovit was really good; he had a powerful voice for an 18-year-old. Nakaka-wow. He’s my idol na. Ahaha. But it was only for two hours, and we went home at around 10. We just walked; ok lang kasi medyo malapit lang naman ‘yun sa bahay. Wee!

So I've been clicking the F5 key over and over again every time I come home, but still, no results! :'(((( Oh well . . . I guess I just have to wait a little bit longer.

12 Resolutions for 2012

  1. Eat less.
  2. Talk more (to other people).
  3. Stop acting like a child/baby.
  4. Be less serious.
  5. Have more patience—like a lot more.
  6. Read more books than 2011! (Which isn’t really saying a lot because I didn’t read that much books this year.)
  7. Forgive and forget.
  8. Say sorry more—and mean it.
  9. Procrastinate less. (Hehe. See how I didn’t put “stop procrastinating”? What? Some procrastination is sorta good.)
  10. Stop being so lazy!
  11. Be on time.
  12. Make new friends but keep the old ones.

The Big FOUR

I'll say this so you wouldn't be shocked. Baka kasi pag bigla nalang di niyo nakita yung mga posts ko, magtaka kayo at kung ano pang isipin ninyo. I've decided on this a few months ago . . . I'm moving to WordPress when I get to college.

Akala niyo kung ano, noh? :)) Haha! Well, ganun talaga. I want to start fresh in college, and that includes a fresh blog. Di ko naman ide-delete to eh, siyempre memories ko rin to. Pero, alam niyo yun . . . :)) Basta. It's a new start. Goodbye Blogger. Goodbye high school life. . . .

So my ever-so-emotional classmates have reminded me that we only have FOUR MONTHS. Four months, to cherish our last days as students of Caritas Don Bosco School. Four months, to make the most out of every moment with those friends we met during the rollercoaster that is high school. Well you get the idea. Four months left before this all ends. I can't say I'm not excited to have that new found freedom the moment I graduate. But I know I'll miss this, all of this, when that moment comes. This is where I grew. This is where I found real friends. This is where I've learned that you can't always get what you want, but in the end it's what's best for you. This is where I found who I am.

I'm not yet sad. I'm just trying to enjoy the moments until they're gone. I don't want to cry about it, though. This is for my classmates na nagpapaka-emo kanina. :)) Four months pa 'yan! Let's enjoy it, okay guys? :)

Naisip ko lang.

Ang bilis ko palang magalit dati. Alala ko, nung Grade 6, nagstart akong magsabi ng bad words, and I'm really not proud of it. As in sobra kong bilis magalit. Ngayon pinipigilan ko nalang sarili ko sa mga sinasabi at ginagawa ko. Hirap nga nito, eh. Pag nasasaktan ako. Di nalang ako nagsasalita dahil baka kung ano pang masabi ko. The down side, di nila malalaman na nasaktan na pala ako. Di ko naman masasabing manhid yung tao kung magaling naman akong magtago ng nararamdaman ko. Haha. May naalala ako. Yung last year. Grabe lang yun. Haha di ko na ikekwento dito, pero grabe lang talaga. Hay. Pero ngayon iba na eh. Tss di ko na magawa yung ganun. Oh well. Sana rin minsan maramdaman mo na nagseselos ako . . . :p

Bangag.

(Icu-cut ko muna yung "My NLTSGO Experience" blahs because I really wanna update you of what's happening in my life, and baka di ko na rin ituloy yung sa NLTSGO dahil tinatamad na ako. Hahaha!)

Going back to school was . . . Well, it felt different. But I'm happy to be with Chofu again :') Oh how I've missed them! Haha! That was a Thursday, and the subjects were Drafting, CLVE, PE, English, Eco, Music and Physics. We started making a 2-part exploded drawing. Waaaa! But it was actually still easy because it was only two parts. Wew. In English we started making the wall for our project. Nagulat nalang ako, I found myself helping Doms, Karla, DM and the others with it. :)) Sir Renz gave us his time to continue the wall. Yey! :D Music time, we met the substitute teacher, Sir Melo. No Tr. Anna for two months :( My first thought was: Pano na sa Himig Harana?!?!?! ;( Sigh . . . Oh, and I learned that Sir Melo's from Rizal, like Tr. Joyce and Sir Garret. Haha.

Monday we had Calculus and Advanced Algebra, and I was like, "WAIT HOW THE HECK ARE YOU GOING TO DO THIS?!" I felt like walking into a battlefield without any weapon. Ahaha! Good thing the lessons were still a bit easy and I caught up with them easily. In Physics we're discussing pressure . . . Hydrostatic pressure, atmospheric pressure, hydraulics . . . Waaah? :)) Haha! Oh, and in GT we're learning engineering this time! :> Wooohoooo! I regret that I have not decided on engineering sooner or I would never have taken all those lessons and discussions for granted, knowing that I would need the knowledge on them in college. Oh well. There's still this quarter. :D

Speaking of this quarter, our 3rd quarterly exam will be on January 12-14, 2012. Yes, as in next year, as in we would have to study (kahit onti lang) during our Christmas break! Like how are we going to enjoy the long break (from Dec. 16 'til Jan. 6, I think?)? Well maybe some can do it freely, but I, as a nerd, would still have some worries during the vacation. But hey, there's nothing I can do about it now. At least the project for almost all subjects is that Eiffel Tower. But that's for us, Chofu. Haha. We started working on that one on Thursday. And I think we're finished now. Go Chofu! :>

So my classmates have been telling me I've been MIA a lot . . . And that sucks :(( We had a meeting yesterday with the batch presidents in the afternoon, then I roamed around to collect the diaries of those who need a haircut. And today Sir Chris met us editors and then I helped Meg and Jonina with their articles, then we had a meeting with the batch and class officers in the AVR, and then Meg finished her column and we also discussed for the Foundation Night and our other upcoming projects. :> I'm actually happy that we're busy, because we haven't been that for a while and I miss it. Haha! And the feeling that you're doing something for the good of many is really rewarding. :')

It's sad to think that soon it will all end, though . . . Three months to go and our term is over! :((( The Miting de Avance for next school year's ESC (NOOOOOO!!) elections will be on February, and, well, that marks the start of the, umm, deceleration of our term! (I can't think of any other term for slowing down other than 'deceleration,' okay?!) :'( Wew. Okay. So I'm sad about that, but I ain't sad about graduating or leaving the school. Maybe I will be (it's most likely that I'll cry on our graduation day or batch recollection or something), but as of now I'm excited. I'm counting the months, actually - four and a half months to go until our LAST quarterly exam. Woohoo! And we're freeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! :D

OH! By the way, I'm assigned to do our Class Will and Testament! It's the one where we get to pass all our skills and talents to the upcoming seniors. I'm doing it (and maybe - hopefully - reading it) for our prom! Hahahahaha! Yehey I'll get to be onstage for that! =)) Ahaha! Thank you for giving me the privilege :) Sana hindi boring yung gawin ko, because I'm gonna do it for like a hundred plus students. Wew! :D Wish me luck! :)

I think that's everything I need to tell you now. I need to rest because my stomach hurts (did I mention that I'm hyperacidic na?) plus I have a cold. What a life, eh? I hate having a cold. I hate the feeling. :/

My NLTSGO 2011 Experience, Day 2

Waking up, I asked, "How many more days?" And including this one, since the day has just started, the answer is FOUR. Four!!! I was already tired then, and we still four more days to go like these?? Coming home late at night, getting about four or five hours of sleep, lining up and waiting for like thirty minutes to one hour for the meals, bumping into every person close to you because of the small space . . . I honestly just wanted to go home at that time. I couldn't remember if we ate breakfast at McDo or at Teachers' Camp (because we didn't have enough money anymore) although I think today we ate at Teachers' Camp. Haha.

We went to the Benitez Hall, but as always, the first floor was already full, so we went upstairs. We went to the right wing and looked for seats, but all the chairs were occupied, so we looked for vacant spaces. Luckily there were still spaces . . . Meg and Emi started falling asleep, but I couldn't, wanna know why? Because of the smelly feet - again. By now you know how much I hate anything that smells. I'm sorry, but my belief is that when I smell something strong (whether good or bad) that odor stays with me for a really long time. And who would want a bad smell stuck in her nose for like an hour or so? -_- (That's one of the reasons I'm attracted to guys who smell nice. Hihi!) So, yeah, I couldn't sleep because of that, and because I couldn't find a proper position to sleep sitting down. Haha!

But I fell asleep, eventually. Hahaha! :p And then they woke me up 'cause we were transferring to the wall so we could sleep more properly . . . But we couldn't anymore. Hahahahaha! We started listening to the plenary session. This time the speaker was Fr. Jboy Gonzales, and he was bringing up some really important issues. Meg looked for her umbrella which she placed beside her bag on our first spot when we came in, but forgot to bring with her when we went to the wall. Oh no! We tried searching and searching for it . . . But we couldn't find it :( And then, Fr. Jboy started talking about cheating and asked some students whether it's good or bad . . . And believe it or not, some took the stand that cheating is good and proudly announced that they do it in their school! They said, you couldn't survive high school without cheating at least once! And that, if you have a friend whom you caught cheating, just let it be because it's the right thing to do! Like what the heck?! We left the hall to line up for lunch, and I was honestly disgusted by their answers. Cheating, good? Gad, and I thought they were student leaders.

It'd been raining since we arrived on Friday (but they were just droplets then, this time the rain was really intense), and with the loss of Meg's umbrella, only Danielle, Joanna and I had umbrellas and shared them with the five who had none, all while waiting in line. And the line was really really long, but we knew a shortcut. :> We looked for the 'second line' again. And luckily enough, there was one, much much shorter than the other one. Mwahahaha! =)) So yeah, we waited in the rain, and we ate when we finally got in. Weeeee!

After eating lunch we looked for Quirino Hall, because that day would be the start of our break-out sessions with the Ateneo CODE. An old man told us to ride the jeep to take us there. We thanked him and looked for a jeep with the sign board 'Quirino Hall.' Unfortunately there were none, but there was one that said 'Albert Hall,' and the driver kindly agreed to take us to our destination. Emi left us because he's assigned to Romulo Hall, that one's for the presidents. Haha. We were dropped off, the fare was free yey! :p There was a huge hall, but you had to climb what looked like 100 steps to get there. Wew O_O We were about to go up there when Paige stopped us because it might not be Quirino Hall. Thankfully there was a sign that said it was Albert Hall. Phew!

A few fails when we were dropped off: the others who were dropped off with us left, so we were kinda sorta alone in that spot. And then Paige was like, "Oh my God we're lost!" and it echoed all around us. Haha! Embarrassing. :)) And then, it was raining diba, and Meg and I were sharing my umbrella, and my umbrella closes itself automatically when you push the button, and she accidentally pushes it! :)) And it was raining :))))) Wahaha! We started walking towards what we hoped was Quirino Hall, then some went to the CR first. Haha. A girl approached us and told us that she could get us front seats if we wanted. She's so nice. :) That girl was Ate PJ. :)

Emi came to us and told us that he's gonna join us instead of the Romulo Hall peeps because he asked the facis where Romulo Hall was and he could join us, Quirino Hall. Haha! So, yeah. When we got inside, we saw that the place was already packed! The students were divided into two, separated in the middle, where there were three facis talking to the ones nearer to the back. We were included there. The guy seemed really nice and friendly (and cute) and one of the girls seemed really crazy! Hahaha! Kebs? Jebs? :)) Later we learned that the guy was Kuya Nico and the girl was Ate Jaz. :D

They presented a dance to us, the dance that they also performed the day before, when Mr. Abendan introduced the facis for the different halls. There was a sort of hot guy, and his name was Kuya Dash. Haha! The girls were screaming for him, but they screamed even harder for Kuya Nico! Waaaaaah! :""""> He was really cute! :"> I hoped to be in his group . . . but unfortunately we weren't. :'( Oh well. Haha! So, yeah, we had a different faci, and she's Ate Jonah! :D She's such a cutie! :))) She's super nice! Haha! And she really explains to us the evaluation of the games we play. :)

Yeah, we played different games, but I won't tell you because some of them will be part of our re-echo of the whole thing. :) Hehe. Yup. At the end of the break-out session we took pictures with our faci, Ate Jonah. :D The other girls took pictures with Kuya Dash, and Emi took a picture with Ate Jaz. Wahahahaha! :)) After that we went near Albert Hall to wait for a jeep to come. It was already like, like past 6 already. When we got to the Parking Lot Tent we ate dinner at Abada Hall first, then called Sir Chris and Tr. Tina to go home. Yes! We were ditching the guest celebrities for the night. 2 hours din yun of waiting for them and we might not even get to see them (like Enrique Gil, huhu) when we could have bonded in our ESC home. Haha! So that's what we did. :D

It was a Sunday, and we were lucky enough to watch Gandang Gabi Vice. Hahaha! Good vibes ;) Then Emi fell asleep watching :)))) Haha! And then Meg and I were the only ones awake, and we watched a few shows, then we turned the TV off and talked about stuff. Then we heard an orchestra =))))) Inside joke. Wahaha! Meg fell asleep first, then me. Haha. Wew!

My NLTSGO 2011 Experience, Day 1

We woke up super early today! Well, that was what it felt like, because we ate breakfast at Jollibee and it was still dark outside. When we arrived at Teachers' Camp, while waiting for the morning program to start, we slept for at least 2 hours! But not continuously. :)) But yeah, we were sooo sleepy! Wew. Haha. And then there was a morning program, and then we had lunch, and then the advisers' group and the students' group were divided. The advisers went to the Baguio City National High School (I think that's what it is) while we stayed at Teachers' Camp. Oh yeah, and Meg and I looked around for my MyPhone prize. Haha! I gave my number to a woman in the backstage, but then a guy told us to look for it later after the morning program. Hayz.

We scored some seats in Benitez Hall upstairs for the afternoon program. Meg and I looked for the woman backstage, but we couldn't find her anymore, so we went to the Office of the Secretariat. They told me to put my contact information in a form, and then they told us they'll contact me later. Meg and I went back to Benitez Hall, and I was BV that I still couldn't get my phone. Lol. Plus I couldn't see anything from my seat because of the girls in front of me. And then, another group of girls told us that they were seated there and if it was okay (for those girls in front of me) that they stay in front of them. So, we went even farther behind, and I couldn't see anything anymore. I'm not someone who likes crowds much, and gets pissed especially if I don't know the people around me, so I went behind and slept my BV-ness off.

I would wake up and then sleep again, on and off sleep. Anyway, the program wasn't starting yet. I turned off my phone because the battery meter was one bar less (and I'm one of the many who panic when their battery meter isn't full) and then I slept again. Haha. I couldn't help it! I woke up 30 minutes later, and I could already hear someone's voice through the speakers in the hall. I turned on my phone again. I waited for it to load, because it was normal for it to kind of lag when loading when it's just turned on. After about 10 minutes, I tried pressing keys, but the screen wouldn't even light up. I was getting nervous. In panic I pressed some more keys, and a ray of hope shone on me when I saw that numbers appeared on the screen, the ones on the keys that I pressed. But that was it, it was just those numbers. The background was white, and there was nothing else but those numbers. I tried to turn it off and then on again, but it was no use. My Nokia phone was doomed.

They introduced the facilitators of the Ateneo CODE per hall. All of us, except for Emi who was assigned to Romulo Hall, were assigned to Quirino Hall. But we weren't going there that day, they just introduced the facis. Haha. After that the program was over, and people were starting to vacate the hall for dinner. But not everyone. Meg and I went downstairs to reserve seats for the evening's program, but there were already a lot seated in front. Luckily we saw a few free seats near the right side of the hall. We reserved them (even if it wasn't really allowed, but eh, since a lot of others were doing that too) until the others arrived. My phone was sooo dead, but thankfully Emi lent me his own because he didn't have a textmate then, and then Meg and I looked for the guys at MyPhone, because someone texted Meg (I gave them Meg's number instead of mine because it couldn't be reached anymore) that I could already claim the prize. We went to the Executive Office and waited, they told me to confirm if it really was me, and the guy gave me a box. Wooh!!

We walked back to Benitez Hall, and Sir Chris and Tr. Tina were already there, back from Baguio National High School. I handed the box to my sister, haha! I opened it, and it was a sliding phone. It's actually the collector's edition "I am Ninoy, I am Cory" phone. It's super patriotic, really yellow, and it has a sort of app all about the Aquinos and their fight for democracy. There's also a prayer there - all the MyPhones have prayers in them. Yeah, so I used it right away because my Nokia was dead. Hahaha! Yeah. :) Oh, and I gave back Emi his phone. :p

In the schedule given to us, we could see which people would be the speakers for the day, where we would go to for the sessions, and of course, most importantly, the celebrities we would be seeing for the night. There was a change of list of celebrities who would come, and it was on Day 0 that I learned that ENRIQUE GIL would be guesting on the night of Day 1! Which was this night! Hahahahahaha! x))))) I first watched him from Good Vibes, and I actually didn't like him at first. But as the weeks went by, I developed this crush on him . . . x)) He's a good dancer, too! :"""> So you couldn't tell my excitement when I learned he would be coming to the NLTSGO, and that I would actually finally get to see him! x) So, I waited.

Paige was coming down with a fever, so Joanna and Tr. Tina accompanied her home, and Emi went with them as well. Also, part 2 of Marcelo Santos III's "Baguio Love Story" was shown, and a lot more people were screaming with each new line of the story shown. Haha :p And then, the hosts called the first guest of the night. I was like, "This is it, this is really is it!!!" And then he said the name . . . Bret Jackson. I didn't even stand up to see him, although a lot of people did. Someone at the back even started yelling, "Walang tatayo! Walang tatayo!" and eventually, everyone in front sat back down on their seats. Haha! Now that's leadership! But even so, I couldn't see his figure if I didn't look at the LED screen. Oh well, it wasn't him that I wanted to see anyway.

The second guest was Morissette, a 15-year-old diva . . . I was actually surprised she was that young! Dang . . . But she was super ultra mega good!! \m/ And then Bret comes out and sings Price Tag with her and I was like . . . EH. :p When they left a lot of people in front were starting to vacate the seats. The hosts at the Parking Lot Tent were doing some sort of game. Giselle told us that we should go in front. I was so excited! I was going to see Enrique Gil and I'd be in the front seat! It was a jungle because there were so many chairs. We even stood on them to get to the front. The worst thing was when we got to the front, it smelled a lot like feet! Gad! No one knows how to be polite anymore! Earlier that day we learned that people don't even know what 'Excuse me' means! Like what the heck?!?!?! My biggest pet peeve is bad smell. I really hate it!!!! But I tried to endure it, just to see Enrique Gil.

And then, we heard the hosts say, "Okay that's it for the night, we'll see you again tomorrow" blah blah blah. I was like, "What the friggin' heck?!?!?!" We endured getting bumped into people, walking on chairs, and smelling really bad feet for nothing?!?!!?! Damn you, Enrique Gil! Why you no come?! It hurts!!! :'((( Oh well . . . So we went home sad . . . Ugh. I took a shower and then slept bitterly. Tsk.

My NLTSGO 2011 Experience, Day 0

Since it was my (all of us, actually) first (and last) time to attend the National Leadership Training for Student Government Officers (NLTSGO), I was not expecting more than 4,000 co-delegates, the big slopes in the roads in Baguio, the change of celebrities that were to arrive, the aircon-less SM Baguio, and a lot more. You see, we rode the bus at Victory Liner Terminal in Pasay going to Baguio. It was I think a 7-hour road trip to get there. There were two bus stops, and I caught some sleep on the way there, because we left school at around quarter to 3 (supposed to be 2a.m. but Meg was late) and arrived at the terminal at around 3:30a.m.

When we got off the bus, I thought we were in a room because the air was so cold you could think you're just in an air-conditioned room! It was so amazing, the Baguio breeze. x) We rode the jeep to Teachers' Camp and filled out some forms while Emi, Giselle and Sir Chris went to the registration. A guy took a picture of my writing on my registration form. Haha! I feel like a star! Joke. :p Anyway, after the whole registration process (which wasn't like the one in Iloilo, because even if it was a bit long and we just stood there - and got to discover where the CR is along the wait - it wasn't super long and boring) Sir Chris told us that we'll be staying at a small house owned by Kuya LJ's family. We rode the taxi on the way and ate breakfast at Jollibee, and then we went outside and waited, then a woman welcomed us to what would be our own home for the next six days.

It was small, yes. Our home was two rooms divided by a wall; on one room stayed Danielle, Inah, Giselle and Tr. Tina (who was to arrive the next day), on the other stayed Sir Chris, Joanna, Paige, Emi, Meg and me. The first thing we did is search for outlets to charge our phones and turn on the TV. :)) There was a TV in each room, which was very fine for us. Hahaha! After we settled our things and luggage in our home, we went to SM Baguio. We waited for the taxis, but there were none approaching. So we walked - yes, walked - all the way to SM Baguio! In Caritas Bosconian terms, the distance we walked I would say would be from CDBS to McDo Bel-Air, with all those uphill slopes and intersections and stuff. I might be exaggerating, but that was how long I felt that walk was. :)) We passed through Burnham Park and Session Road, and walked on a steep slope at least four times. Emi, Meg and I were panting and actually sweating when we got to SM Baguio. Dang. :))

Meg bought some stuff in Watsons and then we just chillaxed in the food court. While she and Emi were taking pictures of themselves, I took the time to catch up with my Zzzz's. Yey! :)) They actually woke me up because we were going to meet up with Sir Chris and the rest of the peeps going to Teachers' Camp. When we arrived there we just waited at the tent for the program to start, and then, I saw my cousin Ryan! Hahahahaha! :)) Nice XDXD :p And then we realized that there was a long, a really really really really long line outside the Abada Hall, where we would be eating our meals. It turns out that that really really really really long line was for dinner already! Daaaang! As I have told you, more than 4,000 registered in this event, so we would really have to fight for our way if we want to, well, go our way. Wew!

But we had a dilemma. We wanted to get inside the Benitez Hall because that would be where all the celebrities would come out, and the people outside, the people under the tent (a really really big tent) would just see a live update through the really really really big LED screen. And since it was our first day, we wanted to see the celebrities first-hand. But we haven't eaten dinner yet, and there was a really long line both at the Abada Hall and at Benitez Hall. So, Emi, Paige and Joanna took take-out for dinner while we waited at Benitez Hall. We waited for an hour, and finally, they were allowing everyone to get in. Luckily we scored some seats at the back, but we were by the aisle and could see the stage (if no one would stand). While waiting for the program to start we ate our dinner.

And then finally, someone went to the stage and called for some volunteers. Some were really highly confident and flamboyant there. Haha. :p We just cheered for the ones from Region 4A. Lol. :)))) And then someone sang a song, and the name of the singer is Jeff Singson, who would also be one of our hosts for the whole event. Wee! Then he called with him a guy named TJ, I don't know his surname, but he also looks good! Haha! :))))) Also there were Kuya Jess and Ate Viel, also our hosts during the event. They introduced to us a 21-year-old story writer that posts his story on YouTube with just words and music, and this guy is Marcelo Santos III. I've known him for about a year now, and I've been watching his stories online. But that night was the night I learned that he's just 21 years old!! And when he came on the stage, he was actually kinda cute!! :') Waaaaah :')

The reason they introduced him is because he made a web series called "Baguio Love Story," a story for us NLTSGO delegates. The people were screaming with every line we saw, and it was an ear-sore. But the story was nice . . . and long that it had to have a part 2, and part 3, until part 5. Wew. Haha! And then they also told us to update our Facebook and Twitter accounts with the hash tag NLTSGO, and someone will be checking the tweets and award the selected peeps with a brand new MyPhone. Then they introduced the first guest of the night: Gab Valenciano!! Man. He was truly awesome! He was dancing and dancing and he also sang a bit . . . Plus he keeps his feet on the ground and his heart rooted to God! :') He's one of the best out there. Truly wonderful.

The second guest was . . . Makata Tawanan! :)) And he lives up to that stage name, because there was not a single minute when he was talking to us. Gad he was so funny! :)) There were also Newborn Divas and the acrobat couple, and the last guest was Beat Box Robert. If you haven't heard of him, you might want to check him out! We want to hire him for our Foundation Night and he'll just make some beats all night and you wouldn't even notice! Hahahaha! He's that amazing! :)) The program ended at around 11 in the evening. Yes, that long! :p Before ending they announced the night's winner of the MyPhone promo . . . And I won!!!! Yes! Can you believe it? Hahaha!! \m/ We looked for the people in charge but we couldn't find them, so we decided to look for it the next day instead. We rode the taxi on the way home. I took a shower first because I knew I'd be lazy in the morning to get up and prepare my clothes and take a shower then and blah blah blah. So yeah :D I slept after that due to extreme sleepiness and fatigue.

Dream Journal Part 5

After about two months, it's finally back! :D Yay! I love dreaming :)

06:51am, Sat Sep-17-2011
I dreamt that he was here at my house O_O =)))))) But we had to go back to school. I asked if he would still stay, and just when he was about to answer . . . Moves Like Jagger played and I was awake. Damn alarm. :)))

03:46pm, Wed Sep-28-2011
I dreamt that I was with Jessa and we were in the terrace of some sort of condo in Manila. We were talking about college and that when we get to college we're going to live there. Haha! And then there was another condo across us, and a much taller one, and from the top of that condo, a guy went skydiving to the pool of another condo. Dang :)))) Can you even get what I'm describing here? Basta =)) It was cool. :D

08:58am, Sat Oct-1-2011
It was our PE time and then we were going to play an unknown game with a ball :)) Then I heard someone calling me. Her voice was familiar so I looked for her, and then I went to her. She said we were classmates when we were in pre-school, but I couldn't remember her name :)) I tried guessing it but failed. Haha. She said Christine was her name! XD

07:50am, Sun Oct-2-2011
This one's a cool dream. xD It was weekend, and there were a lot of peeps shooting for the Physics project in our village :)) Our group wasn't included in those peeps because we were already done shooting. XD I took a stroll outside our house and watched those groups. And then I saw Emi, Meg, Margie and a few others, and it seemed like they were already done with their shooting. I went to them. Emi was holding some sort of ball like the one used in Sepak Takraw. Haha. We were playing it like it was frisbee :)) Like the vamps in Twilight, the way they play baseball, we were so strong O_O Seriously =)) We were running towards an open space, with surfaces like those of Mars or the Moon. Yes, that's how I'd describe it. :P There were dents and some like half-craters . . . And we played there. So cool. :D

07:56am, Sun Oct-2-2011
I dreamt another dream that day, and this time, I was studying at Yale :)))) I wanted to join a known sorority in the university =)) (FYI, I don't want to join any sorority or even fraternity when I'm in college. :P) And then I saw Tr. Jean looking at the announcement board! She was dressed like a preppy person :)) =)) And then I found out that she's a member of that sorority and she's recruiting =)) (Again, remember guys, this is JUST A DREAM!!! :))) She didn't actually see me. Haha! Then I went to the room where you want to apply for that sorority. Vielka and X were there :)) Even Meg and Micah and Val! =)) In the application form in the last part, you have to write the lyrics of the song Thank You For the Music that you remember. Weird =))

05:22pm, Wed Oct-5-2011
I dreamed that I was going home, and then when I was about to enter our house I saw the DB Pampanga boys :)) The ones we met during the Auxilium Provincial Day. :D Haha!! They looked so good O_O Lol =)) Too bad we don't have a provincial day this year :|

06:56am, Sun Oct-23-2011
I was in school, and I was in the 2nd floor. I'm not really sure why but I was there. Haha. And then I realized that it's almost time. I saw Valerie talking to someone, and then I told her we should go downstairs already if we didn't want to be late. She was just finishing her conversation, then I walked ahead until the lockers in front of the vacant room. And then, I saw Fr. Mario O_O I looked at him to make sure it was him, and then I asked for his blessing :))) Lol. Haha. Val came, and we went downstairs. The Miyazaki peeps were already inside their classroom O_O The Chofu girls were just entering, because it was our English period and Tr. Ching is usually late :)) :P And then I went in the classroom and told Kenneth that I saw Fr. Mario :)) Lol. (Oh BTW, since I didn't blog about our retreat, Fr. Mario was our retreat master this year.)

06:12am, Fri Oct-28-2011
Awarding ceremony of the Sports Fest in the field. That was my dream. They were giving out solo awards first, and then Tr. Jean was awarded for something O________O Weird =)) But she was nowhere to be found hahaha. And then AJ said she was absent. Lol. That's it :))

05:03am, Mon Oct-31-2011
Okay so I dreamed that we had 99 for our Physics project =)) Gad that was totally a dream =)) I don't expect our grade in that project to be high eh hahaha. But I saw myself in my dream and I was super happy :)) Too bad. It was only just a dream. =))

09:34am, Mon Oct-31-2011
I had another dream! Haha. Everyone in our batch who left came back to DB! Like Abby, Louise and some others . . . I didn't see Louise actually :( But I knew she was there. Hehe. XD I was walking past Miyazaki and I saw her in their classroom. Yes, Abby in my dream is in Miyazaki and that just makes me want to cry. =)) Haha!! Seriously though . . . I saw her, and she looked at me, and she smiled, and then I started crying in my dream :))))) Waaaa. :) I miss you Abby.

Video of the Week: Teatro - 'Music Of The Night' Official Video

Since I've been listening to the Phantom of the Opera songs since Monday . . . I wish I could post the entire movie here but you're not gonna find it in one video hahaha. This is my 2nd favorite song in the movie (next to 'The Mirror') and David Cook actually has his own version of this that he sang in American Idol. ;) Then Emi told me about this version, and I like this one the best :) I would actually listen to this song when I need to sleep hehehe! But seriously, this song is awesome, I could listen to (and sing) this song for a whole day. The perfect lullaby . . . And the lyrics . . . Just listen to it :)

Let your mind start a journey to a strange new world
Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before
Let your soul take you where you long to be
Only then can you belong to me. . . .

One Big Fight! Seniors!

Okay so I can't think of any awesome title. :))

Day 1
So the intrams started on Monday with the opening ceremony, with the torch-lighting, cheering, and raising of flags. After that the games were simultaneously being held. Karla, Regina, Cor, Djy and I changed our clothes into our soccer outfit. Hahahaha. Okay so I borrowed most of my gear =)) Thank you Cor for my long sleeves, Regina for my cycling, shorts and long socks, and Djy for the sunblock. :))))) Yaaaah :P After that we headed to the field, at the front of the IT lab and offices. Cor practiced me with my goalkeeping, because I was, as Reg said, "rusty." Yeah, it's been like nine months . . . O_O Anyway, so Cor practiced me. At first I was soooo uuugghh, because I'd been really depressed since the week before. Ehem . . . And then I was like, "Cor, give me some Physics terms" like projectile motion and force and collision . . . =)))))) It was funny, and then Cor said I improved when she did that. :))))

Our first game was against the freshmen. I was so nervous because it was my first game since those nine months after the intrams last school year. Good thing they weren't bringing the ball so close to me . . . Hahaha!! :)) And then, Reg scored a goal!!!! :> \m/ Oh yeah!! So the final score was 1-0, in favor of us. Yey! :D We walked through the lobby after the game. We saw some of the alumni! Ate Faith, Ate Nica . . . And Ron!!!! :)) I didn't even see him at first. =)) Haha!! But I missed him! :> Ssshh!! =)) Yeah. Haha. I even hit him with the gloves. Lolz. And then we said goodbye to each other . . . Aww. . . . :))

We waited the whole day for our game against the sophomores . . . only to find out in the afternoon that the game will be on the next day. Aww. So I changed into my PE uniform and went to the canteen to eat with Vielks. Then we headed to the Cimatti Dome to watch our girls' volleyball game against the sophomores. Haha. After the game (in which the seniors won), Vielka and I headed in front of the gym lobby to watch the game . . . I think it was the soccer game of the boys. Hahaha. I forgot :)) Waa. I'm really not sure :)) And then I went to the lobby to see Ate Faith :> HAHAHA. :) We hung out for an hour in the lobby . . . Lolz. :D Hung out, then I went home :) My body was tired. X_X Ahaha. But I still slept at around 11 because I played with my cousin :))

Day 2
I didn't know they included me in chess until the day before. At 8 in the morning, Meg, Jessa and I headed to the Suginami Hall. (And don't worry because I changed into my soccer gear before that, just in case they'd call me.) Jessa played first with a freshman, while Meg and I played with each other. Ang tagal nga eh. But she beat me. :)) And then Meg played with a freshman as well. I went with her and started singing HSM songs :)) And Phantom of the Opera songs because they were my thing since Monday. Haha! =)) I checked the field for any games and found out we were up in 15 minutes. So I took the gloves (that I've been borrowing from AJ since Day 1) in the Suginami Hall and prepared with the girls.

Our game was against the sophomores. I was even more nervous than our previous game because Julia's a sophomore, and everybody knows how damn good she is. So good, that, in the first 30 seconds of the game, she scored a goal past me. I even dived! But it was a major fail! I teared up right after that, so mad at myself for being so stupid like that. The next two attempts from them, I dived again, bruising both of my knees. Part of my skin was friggin' scraped, I couldn't stand properly. I still stayed through the first half, but during the break Reg told me to go the clinic. I had it plastered, and nurse gave me some ice, then I stayed with Vielka, Hanna and the others to watch. Yeah, I sat out through the second half, my knees couldn't stand it. :(

Julia was a 'hot trick.' That's what it's called (sabi ng soccer boys) when someone scores three consecutive goals in a game. Yes, that's exactly what Julia did in our game. XP 3-0, dang. :( I headed straight to the Suginami Hall for chess. I had a match with a 2nd year girl. It took us so long! Man. Haha. Guess what? I won. =))))) Sasha (Trinidad) told me if the girl hadn't blundered, she would've won. Awww. Right after that long match, Sir Allan put me up against my sister! Yeah. I won, but all because Sir Allan moved my pieces when Danielle thought I was check mate. So Sir Allan told us we could eat for 15 minutes, then have a re-match. And, yeah, she won. :> I don't feel bad losing to my sister . . . I know she's good. She's great. :))))

And then Reg called me for our game. Against the juniors. The game started. So first half. They goaled twice . . . But I dunno, those two goals didn't even look like goals, especially the 2nd one. I felt stupid, again . . . Tsk. Then it was time for the 2nd half. Change court. Ahaha. They didn't goal anymore after that. :> It felt good. :"> After the game Karla told me that Yani (3rd year's keeper) told her, "Ang mamaw naman ng keeper." Gosh, I felt so affirmed! :) Ganun talaga. :)))) Hahaha! The final score was 2-0, thanks to our attackers and defenders for keeping the ball away from me when they'd get the chance. :> Our soccer girls really improved this school year! So proud! \m/

When I got home, my body hurt even more and I can't move my legs properly because of my wounds. Wew! O_O And then I fell asleep listening to the Music of the Night by Teatro :) :">

Day 3
There were still games today. O_O But we had lay-outing first. Oh! And I had the plaster on both my wounds replaced before the game. Ang hapdiiii! Like seriously, ask Meg or Cor. I was holding Meg's hand to release the pain hahaha =)) Para ko siyang nanay :)))) Then she and I checked on the volleyball championship game (juniors vs. seniors) in the Cimatti Dome, when Wats told me our game was up next. I saw Reg and the other girls running from the corners and going down, while I called Eena and Rorie in the IT lab. It was soo rushed because the moment I stepped out of the IT lab, Reg called us and told us to hurry up. I was a bit thirsty pa. Dang. :)) But the game started. Game face on!

Battle for 3rd against the freshmen. Our attackers kept the ball in the freshmen's side of the field. There was a handball violation, and we had our chance for a penalty kick. Unfortunately, their keeper caught it. :( Ahaha! :P I caught an attempt, too. Yey! :D And then just like that, 1st half was over. I was about to go drink from the fountain, when Reg called me and told me there was no half time break. And I was like, "Whaaaaat?!?!?!" I was so friggin' thirsty! :O But the game had to go on. Wew. Second half.

The freshmen were getting the ball up in our side. We also had our attempts but as I had said, their keeper had great potential. :> Nicole had handball near the goal so it was a penalty kick. I positioned myself with what Cor had taught me two days before. I felt my hands shaking inside the gloves! Man. So the girl took a shot. It was outside. PHEW. :P Ahaha! Then, again, just like that, 2nd half was already over. I braced myself for the inevitable. No one scored any goals, and in soccer, that only meant one thing: PENALTY KICK.

So the freshmen were the first to kick, and that meant I had to block it. I looked at the people in front of me, and I saw Reg, and she was screaming, "Denise, hindi mo yan papapasukin sa'yo! Kaya mo yan!" And the others were screaming too. I felt myself shaking again, I thought I was gonna fall unconscious. Wew. But their first shot was outside. Phew. Then, it was our turn to take a shot at the goal. Reg went first. Ha! Guess what? She goaled!!! :D:D Wooooooh!! \m/\m/ The next attempts of the freshmen, I blocked. :> Woopee! :) The final score was 1-0, in favor of us. Yeeeesz :D

After that we proceeded to lay-outing again. Hahaha. We watched the championship soccer game of the freshmen and seniors. Haha! Both teams were so good! We can't even hahahaha :)) No one scored and they had the penalty kick as well. Their final score was 3-0 :> Yes!! \m/ Haha. But we lost to the juniors both boys and girls in the volleyball championship. Oh my. :O Haha. Yeah. There was no awarding and they said that the other games will be continued when classes resume. Wew. And then we went home :) No gala for our tropa :'( Ahaha! Oh well. I welcomed sembreak sleepy and with a really tired body.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I'm trying to smile through everything nalang until it's over. I can wait. Oo na, kakayanin ko, kasi matatapos din to. I'll prove to everyone I can. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaayy. Bakit kasi.

Video of the Week: LAUREN'S LETTER (with Director's Commentary)

It had been a long and rough road, but it’s finally here and I’m proud to present an original story for our Physics project: Lauren’s Letter.

Writing the story was hard because I had to think of all the factors—location, time, manpower, equipment, how Physics comes into play of everything—everything in the story has to agree with all these factors. The concept was simple. Since we were assigned to concentrate on the Grand Carousel ride in Enchanted Kingdom, all of us in the group agreed on making a love story. Thus, Lauren’s Letter.

There were only two settings for this video: in school and in Enchanted Kingdom, where most of the scenes are shot. The whole video starts as happy and actually a tad High School Musical-inspired, but slowly we start to realize that something had happened that really traumatized the way a high school student shouldn’t have been traumatized. It’s a paradox, young high school students experiencing an adult’s loss, and it is made that way to show that life, no matter how young or old you are, is full of paradoxes.

Each time Christian reminisces his memories with Lauren, this is where we get to ‘read’ the letters through his eyes. The feelings and essence of the letters are in these flashbacks.

His friends also symbolize unity. Having different eccentricities, the three of them, together with Christian and Lauren, had been able to come together as a group, and the three of them decide to help their friend to move on from an inevitable situation. And for me, this is what good friends should do :)

The main agenda was to involve Physics in the story. I had not yet been engaged in Physics-related topics by the time I was writing the script, and so it was kept simple: a box with a lock containing Lauren’s last letter, the lock containing a combination, which was the centripetal acceleration of the carousel. It is honestly the one thing I regret—that I had not involved enough Physics in the story. If only I had been allowed to edit some of the lines I would write cheesey lines involving Physics, just to let the viewers (if there are any) catch a drift of the subject, because that’s the main reason for everything here.

The music also plays a major role through the course of the video. The songs used are familiar to everyone, yet they still underwent through a long selection process to really set the mood right in the scenes.

Ultimately, I made the story end the way it ended, because I believe that when a relationship ends, something new and more beautiful is bound to come into our lives. The wait may be short or long, but there will be always something beautiful in the end. I hope the girl at the end represented that beauty in the viewers’ eyes. :>

The key to success is having a little bit of everything.

Hello! What's up? :P I'm here to update you guys with my life. Hahaha. So, last Friday we had an overnight lay-outing in the school!!! Yeah! :D It was pretty awesome. Hahaha. We got to order from McDo, eat at the lobby, stay in the IT lab until past midnight, sleep in the clinic, walk in 3B at around 8 in the morning (me and Meg), eat in the bench outside the clinic looking like evacuees from a flood, hmmmmm what else :)) It was a nice experience, but more importantly, we had major progress when it comes to our lay-outing. The date of release is so, well, outdated already . . . So so sorry for the delay :( But it will come out! We'll release three issues this year! Go Echoes! xD

And, yesterday was the Math Acoustic contest!!!!! Jessa, Cor, Steph and I regrouped and recruited Rorie as our new beat-boxer for the XYZ Band. :D Yes! If you don't remember, we joined last year as well, with Karen on piano and Louise on vocals with Jessa (Cor played the beat box then), and we won 1st runner-up, following Kuya Carlo's band and their Dyut Dyut Song. Yes, and we were reborn this year, and guess who has plus five points in the exams in Advanced Algebra AND Calculus?! Heck yes! XYZ Band!!! :) Girl power! :D

All the bands were really great, especially STOKED, composed of Xander, Ranie, Zach, Paolo and DP! :D We were really nervous at first because, the contest started without the seniors!! Grabe. It wasn't the nervousness of performing onstage, it was the nervousness that we're going to perform without our best supporters - and who better than our fellow seniors? I was almost crushed at the thought of them not seeing us. We were checking every five minutes in the Suginami Hall if the seminar on calculator (a.k.a. Sharp calculator advertising), and finally, they started going out one by one. Hopes were regained. It didn't matter now, winning, the seniors were there with us. :)

We have a gift check! :)) Gift checks, really. :)) From SM!!! P1,200!! Haha! Nice xD That was a nice prize. I'm so thankful for XYZ. Thank you for letting me part of the group and to share the music. :) Speaking of music - and good music at that - Kuya Carlo and Kuya Zach performed the Dyut Dyut Song yesterday as an intermission number. I missed them! Kuya Carlo is really a musician and an artist, and we're blessed to know a guy like him. :>

The quarterly test will start on Thursday and end on Saturday, then sembreak starts October 27. Classes will resume on November 3. HAHA. What an awesome sembreak, eh? Saktong one week pa. Thanks, admin. Wew. BUT here's the thing, we ESC officers are going to Baguio for the National Leadership Training for Student Government Organizations (NLTSGO). Yeaaahhh! I can proudly say it now because sister's already approved us and the PTC is going to shoulder a part of the registration fee, too! Plus, we've already faxed our registration form so there's no turning back now. Wahaha! Yay! :D

Oh my gosh and did I mention CHOFU WON the MATHRATHON? Yeeeess!!!!! :> Go Chofu! :')
