LACASA '11: Making a World of Difference

We will sing, sing, sing, and make music with the heavens. We will sing, sing, sing, grateful that you hear us when we shout your praise, lift high the name of Jesus.

This was a really good day. Not really what I expected, but it was better. :) We were split into two because we'd be coming in vans. Thirty minutes is the estimated trip from CDBS to Colegio de San Juan de Letran at Calamba. I even saw SM Calamba when we were going there and I remembered our chem trip. HAHAHA SHARE. Anyway, we got there, but our other schoolmates were still on the way. It was really cold there in the morning. Good thing we had our jackets on, because it was a really long time before the others arrived. While waiting, we saw the other students from the other schools . . . And their IDs for the LACASA. We felt so downgraded because ours was just a sticker like a children's party name tag, and theirs was laminated. See the difference? Oh well . . . And finally, the others came. Wee. :D

It was kind of a long walk. Man, I wish I could describe you what CSJL Calamba looks like, but unfortunately, I'm not good with outside appearances. :)))))) But I'll try my best. Buildings were circling a really large field. Outside the building where we entered, there were I think two other buildings on each side. It felt like UST even though I have never been to UST my entire life - YET - because it looked real old. I'm not saying it's run-down or whatever, I'm just saying it's not that new. But it still looked strong.

So we walked from the first building up to their gym. At first we didn't know if we should enter yet. Hahaha. And then we saw Tr. Nora! She was our Filipino teacher when we were in first year. Yeah, she's in Letran now! Whoa. Anyway, we greeted her, and then we went inside the gym. A lotta students were already there. Seriously, I think 34 schools came. They were already dancing to some rock Gospel songs, and they kept dancing some more. It was awkward for us because we just got there and we don't know the steps yet, and the group in front was really . . . energetic. There was one guy (although he was kind of acting like a not guy) who seemed he really excited about the dancing. We were laughing at him. Mean, I know. :P

And then we had a mass celebrated by the bishop. There were so many of us. Meg was the one who read the responsorial psalm. Hahaha. And then after the mass we just stayed there in the gym. Snacks were distributed to each school. Burger and juice. Weeeeeee. :)) Then we were "welcomed" by some dancers of Letran. It was, um, good, I guess :) After that . . . Uh . . . Oh yeah, we DANCED. Two songs only, but we danced it so many times. But at first, though, we weren't LSS-ed by it. XD Oh yeah, and then after that, we were asked to take out a pen and paper. We had to ask at least 100 people their e-mail accounts on Facebook. Which was quite weird but we did it anyway. We were running around and writing our e-mail addresses on different papers. :)) It was kind of funny, but still weird.

After talking to some random people, someone gave us a talk. I thought it was gonna be boring, but it turns out that he was one of the greatest talk-givers I've ever encountered in my life. Seriously, he was funny, there wasn't one moment we felt dead in his talk. Which was cool. Except for the fact that my legs and butt and feet were already hurting from just sitting there the whole two or three hours. And when the talk was over, some stood up, but it turned out that no one was allowed to leave the gym for . . . ever. It felt like an evacuation center. :))))

We were given lunch, and we ate in the gym. Yeah, all of us. So many schools. So many people. Evacuation center. :)) A band was playing while we were eating though, so that was very nice. x] And then we were asked one 3rd year representative from each school for the elections of the LACASA Board for next year. Dianne was ours. :P And then, we danced some more!! Woopee. But this time, we were kind of starting to enjoy it. :))))) Well, the other song, anyway. Sing, sing, sing!! \m/ :)) XD

The dancing was finished, and then we continued the activity where we had to ask for people's Facebook accounts. After that, the Bible Quiz Bee started. Only one student per school. Well, that sucked. :))))) Ate Aila was ours. Go Ate Aila! There were 5 groups, with different students of different schools each. 15 total questions for the whole quiz bee, divided into the three usual categories. But here's the catch: If you get the question wrong, you're out. You can't answer anymore questions, so your team loses a member. The team with the most number of members left wins. Unfortunately, Team/Group 2, where Ate Aila was in, lost. Group 3 won. Darn. Too bad. But oh well.

The winners were awarded with the medals. After that, the winners of the elections were announced. Dianne wasn't there, so I didn't listen much :))))) I just ate the snacks given to us. XDXD Then we played a game. I didn't understand it, but we just did whatever what was told to get it over with. It was sort of weird, but funny. :D And then, we danced again!! Most of us, even the people from the other schools, requested the Sing, Sing, Sing. Hahaha! :)) \m/ It was played over and over I think three times. It was fun the first two times, but during the third, well . . . There were some people pushing each other towards our way in one particular part of the song, so it was very awkward. HAHA. Then after that, we were all dismissed. Weeeeeeee!

Fresh air! We finally got to taste the fresh air! :)) Okay, so Sir Renz wanted to take pictures :)) But it ended up that he was the one who took the picture of us. :))))) After that, we rode back to school. We got there earlier than the rest, again.

Astrid, Jonina and I went upstairs. No one was there, of course, we arrived at 4:30 in the afternoon. We went inside Mira and saw the list of players for the Sports Fest next week. I'm in soccer with Regina, Djyrin, Coritha, and so many others. Woo! Awesome. Jonina's in table tennis, I think. Hahaha. :)) Astrid's in Game of the Generals. Wew. The games are per level. Meaning the first year will compete against the second year and so on and so forth. Whoa. Nervous? Yeah . . . I'm gonna be seeing those second year girls again. And they are good soccer players. But they're also mean, soul-crushing little girls. Haha. What? They broke my spirit a year and a half ago. But I think they're . . . um . . . better than the last time I saw them. HAHAHA. I hope so. Anyways, though, I'm excited to play soccer again. It's been a really, really long time. And I WON'T be the keeper. Wee! I miss playing defense.

So I guess that's the end for now. Such a long blog. Well, it was a fun day. I missed Mira, though. Saw some of them when we were still at school in the morning BTW. But yeah, I missed them. O_O But I don't regret participating in LACASA. :D:D
