My NLTSGO 2011 Experience, Day 1
We woke up super early today! Well, that was what it felt like, because we ate breakfast at Jollibee and it was still dark outside. When we arrived at Teachers' Camp, while waiting for the morning program to start, we slept for at least 2 hours! But not continuously. :)) But yeah, we were sooo sleepy! Wew. Haha. And then there was a morning program, and then we had lunch, and then the advisers' group and the students' group were divided. The advisers went to the Baguio City National High School (I think that's what it is) while we stayed at Teachers' Camp. Oh yeah, and Meg and I looked around for my MyPhone prize. Haha! I gave my number to a woman in the backstage, but then a guy told us to look for it later after the morning program. Hayz.
We scored some seats in Benitez Hall upstairs for the afternoon program. Meg and I looked for the woman backstage, but we couldn't find her anymore, so we went to the Office of the Secretariat. They told me to put my contact information in a form, and then they told us they'll contact me later. Meg and I went back to Benitez Hall, and I was BV that I still couldn't get my phone. Lol. Plus I couldn't see anything from my seat because of the girls in front of me. And then, another group of girls told us that they were seated there and if it was okay (for those girls in front of me) that they stay in front of them. So, we went even farther behind, and I couldn't see anything anymore. I'm not someone who likes crowds much, and gets pissed especially if I don't know the people around me, so I went behind and slept my BV-ness off.
I would wake up and then sleep again, on and off sleep. Anyway, the program wasn't starting yet. I turned off my phone because the battery meter was one bar less (and I'm one of the many who panic when their battery meter isn't full) and then I slept again. Haha. I couldn't help it! I woke up 30 minutes later, and I could already hear someone's voice through the speakers in the hall. I turned on my phone again. I waited for it to load, because it was normal for it to kind of lag when loading when it's just turned on. After about 10 minutes, I tried pressing keys, but the screen wouldn't even light up. I was getting nervous. In panic I pressed some more keys, and a ray of hope shone on me when I saw that numbers appeared on the screen, the ones on the keys that I pressed. But that was it, it was just those numbers. The background was white, and there was nothing else but those numbers. I tried to turn it off and then on again, but it was no use. My Nokia phone was doomed.
They introduced the facilitators of the Ateneo CODE per hall. All of us, except for Emi who was assigned to Romulo Hall, were assigned to Quirino Hall. But we weren't going there that day, they just introduced the facis. Haha. After that the program was over, and people were starting to vacate the hall for dinner. But not everyone. Meg and I went downstairs to reserve seats for the evening's program, but there were already a lot seated in front. Luckily we saw a few free seats near the right side of the hall. We reserved them (even if it wasn't really allowed, but eh, since a lot of others were doing that too) until the others arrived. My phone was sooo dead, but thankfully Emi lent me his own because he didn't have a textmate then, and then Meg and I looked for the guys at MyPhone, because someone texted Meg (I gave them Meg's number instead of mine because it couldn't be reached anymore) that I could already claim the prize. We went to the Executive Office and waited, they told me to confirm if it really was me, and the guy gave me a box. Wooh!!
We walked back to Benitez Hall, and Sir Chris and Tr. Tina were already there, back from Baguio National High School. I handed the box to my sister, haha! I opened it, and it was a sliding phone. It's actually the collector's edition "I am Ninoy, I am Cory" phone. It's super patriotic, really yellow, and it has a sort of app all about the Aquinos and their fight for democracy. There's also a prayer there - all the MyPhones have prayers in them. Yeah, so I used it right away because my Nokia was dead. Hahaha! Yeah. :) Oh, and I gave back Emi his phone. :p
In the schedule given to us, we could see which people would be the speakers for the day, where we would go to for the sessions, and of course, most importantly, the celebrities we would be seeing for the night. There was a change of list of celebrities who would come, and it was on Day 0 that I learned that ENRIQUE GIL would be guesting on the night of Day 1! Which was this night! Hahahahahaha! x))))) I first watched him from Good Vibes, and I actually didn't like him at first. But as the weeks went by, I developed this crush on him . . . x)) He's a good dancer, too! :"""> So you couldn't tell my excitement when I learned he would be coming to the NLTSGO, and that I would actually finally get to see him! x) So, I waited.
Paige was coming down with a fever, so Joanna and Tr. Tina accompanied her home, and Emi went with them as well. Also, part 2 of Marcelo Santos III's "Baguio Love Story" was shown, and a lot more people were screaming with each new line of the story shown. Haha :p And then, the hosts called the first guest of the night. I was like,
"This is it, this is really is it!!!" And then he said the name . . . Bret Jackson. I didn't even stand up to see him, although a lot of people did. Someone at the back even started yelling, "Walang tatayo! Walang tatayo!" and eventually, everyone in front sat back down on their seats. Haha! Now that's leadership! But even so, I couldn't see his figure if I didn't look at the LED screen. Oh well, it wasn't him that I wanted to see anyway.
The second guest was Morissette, a 15-year-old diva . . . I was actually surprised she was that young! Dang . . . But she was super ultra mega good!! \m/ And then Bret comes out and sings Price Tag with her and I was like . . . EH. :p When they left a lot of people in front were starting to vacate the seats. The hosts at the Parking Lot Tent were doing some sort of game. Giselle told us that we should go in front. I was so excited! I was going to see Enrique Gil and I'd be in the front seat! It was a jungle because there were so many chairs. We even stood on them to get to the front. The worst thing was when we got to the front, it smelled a lot like feet! Gad! No one knows how to be polite anymore! Earlier that day we learned that people don't even know what 'Excuse me' means! Like what the heck?!?!?! My biggest pet peeve is bad smell. I really hate it!!!! But I tried to endure it, just to see Enrique Gil.
And then, we heard the hosts say, "Okay that's it for the night, we'll see you again tomorrow" blah blah blah. I was like, "What the friggin' heck?!?!?!" We endured getting bumped into people, walking on chairs, and smelling really bad feet for nothing?!?!!?! Damn you, Enrique Gil! Why you no come?! It hurts!!! :'((( Oh well . . . So we went home sad . . . Ugh. I took a shower and then slept bitterly. Tsk.
