AWESOMENESS in the HOUSE!

the era of awesomeness has begun.

Hit rewind, press play; hit forward I'll see you there :)

I dunno why that's the title. I just thought of it. Sorry naman!

Fact of the Day: Smelling bananas or green apples can help you lose weight.
Quote of the Day: Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure.

I realized that I've only done that (fact and quote of the day) only once before this, and, well, that's not very fair, is it? So from now on I promise to do that more frequently now. :P I actually have nothing much to say here . . .

. . . except that I missed blogging. I miss typing my everyday life! I'm looking back on my previous posts and realize that I've been more elaborate then, and I blogged almost daily, not weekly! I don't know now . . . I want to tell you a lot of things but I'm afraid someone will read and get the wrong impression or something, or worse - find out the truth. Haha! Hmmmmmm . . . But for you, dear blog, I'm willing to share "some" things.

Well, you know, ESC's calming down a bit . . . We've just launched our latest project, the Dirt Trap, and since then we have no big events yet . . . Thankful for that . . . For now. . . .

And then the SaDulAwit contest thingy. We have practices tomorrow and on Tuesday, stripping away the purpose of "rest" of the "long weekend." But guess what? On Wednesday, we're gonna perform this in the Cimatti Dome. Like what in the world?! Really?! How stupid could they get? I mean, how are we going to perform in there where there's no sound system and lights and even a stage?! It's soooo stupid. Ugh. Wow so that pissed me off right now. Haha. Because I was really imagining that it would be in the gym. Damn people. XP

After the contest, we have CAT on Saturday, then Physics trip on Thursday, card distribution on Friday. Wow what is life. I don't know why seniors from previous batches said this year was easy. Clearly it's not. Or maybe it's just for us. You know, I'm starting to get the feeling that they hate our batch.

As for my social life . . . Hmmmmmmmmm . . . :)))))))) Well, I still haven't gone out with my BFF's. :'( I miss Tissue! I miss just laughing at everything. :P Oh, and remember when I said this? I wrote this about two months ago: I didn't realize how badly broken I was until this week. Like I couldn't take it anymore. And it started interfering with everything in my life. How in the world will I be able to move past this?

One week after that, my world was okay again. :) Waaaaaaaaaaa. :)) Thank you! :)

Improvement all the way :)

First quarter - it's finally over! I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Happy because that's one less quarter of projects to worry about, but sad because that's also one less quarter with my friends, loved ones, classmates, and schoolmates. :'( It's amazing to see how everything seems so far away now. The past (practices and bonding with Mirabello, up to reviewing in Brain Train and preparing for the UPCAT) and the future (my future in my dream university, hopefully) both seem so distant. I just want to be stuck in this weightless cloud right here :)

Monday this week, we SLA participants took our Math minor, English and Science exams. The following days we received our scores. Wew. I'm actually quite happy with almost all my results. :) Hope you guys are too. So we already started our Drafting project for this quarter . . . Waa, I hope it'll get me through. And today we had a company tour in Agacons Construction Inc., Technopark Hotel, and San Lorenzo Hospital and Medical Center. Although ECE isn't there . . . :))

Card distribution on September 9. Then Physics trip the day before that. So many things to do for September. But before we go to September, let's focus on this month, August, Buwan ng Wika. We're all cramming for the contest. We even had a debate yesterday. Dammit! So much pressure right after the exams. I hope I'll make through all this. Let's do it!

SLA 2011: Ka.Ak.Bay

“Leadership is all about going back to the principles of a given problem.” – Benhur Abalos, Mandaluyong City Mayor, pure Bosconian

Road Trip
We were all set to go to DBTC Manda for this year’s Student Leaders Assembly or more commonly as SLA!! We arrived at school, and after the flag raising ceremony, we headed to the bus. Road trip! Ahaha. After about an hour and a half, we arrived at DB Manda at around 9 in the morning. That was my 3rd time to visit DB Manda, and it actually felt like home. Hehehe! We saw our Welcoming Committee. A guy named Sai. ;) Aaand Daaan! :””””> He’s DB Manda’s SC PRO, who’s also the captain of the football team even if he’s super white! Wahahaha! (I think I mentioned him in my blog about when we met up with their SC. Not his name though.) \m/ While we were walking to our rooms, I also saw Migz. Cool much? XD Hahaha! And then we learned that we’ll be staying in the 3rd year rooms for two days. Vielka and I were supposed to stay in 3-Rua, but then Reg, Micah and Val (yes, Meg was not there in the SLA because she’s still sick :( ) moved to 3-Rinaldi with the 2nd and 3rd year girls, we moved there too. Hehe! The program would start at 10a.m. so we had time to practice for two rounds. And then we just chillaxed in our rooms. ;)

Welcome to DBTC Manda!
At 10am we went to the Savio Auditorium for the opening ceremony. Someone was singing Halaga, I think, along with two other guys. And one was Mycko! I also mentioned him in my blog, the one who’s appeared in a bunch of commercials, who is also in a band! He’s the drummer of the band, but he plays guitar. Hahahaha! We heard him sing. So lovely. :””””> He sang Prinsesa. Ahehehe. I looove that. ;) And then Charles (I forgot his position but I know I saw him O.O) and another guy, his name’s Lance, walked up to the stage as the emcees. There were welcoming addresses from Fr. Inocencio and Fr. Macasaet. I forgot their first names. XP It was a bit long [and boring], but we were finally going to the canteen for our lunch. Woopeeee! We stayed with DB Canlubang during meals. Vegetables. Man! :)) We stayed for a while in our quarters (rooms) after lunch.

A Living Proof
After lunch was the motorcade to the municipality hall (Is my term right?) of Mandaluyong for the inspirational talk of Mandaluyong’s mayor, Hon. Benhur Abalos, who is a Bosconian. Oh yeahh!! As a matter of fact, a lot of their leaders there in Mandaluyong are Bosconians! Ain’t that grand? He told us about his works and plans for his city, and man, he’s my idol already. O__________O So after that we headed to two of his projects: one was a place for mentally challenged children, and the other was a city funeral home, where if you’re poor, you have all the funeral services free of charge. ;) Ain’t that awesome?! He said that, other people don’t think to do this because it’s for the dead people, and they won’t vote for him anyway because they’re, well, dead—but he does this because he wants to help ALL people. Gaaah. He’s the best. He’s the perfect example for everyone, not just Bosconians, out there. :)

In Action
We went back to DB Manda and back to our quarters for some rest. We changed clothes and headed back to the auditorium for the Action Plan Presentation. Yep. So since Meg’s not around, I was going with Paige and Emi onstage for the APP. At first I was all cool with it, but we were 2nd to present, so when DB Canlubang was almost finished I started to shake—and not because of the coldness of the auditorium. We were up next. I felt like we had the longest presentation. Hahaha. But after that we weren’t done yet, because we were supposed to answer the questions of the critics. They were all [old] women. Hahaha. And guess what? They friggin’ laughed at us. Like we were stupid or something. One of them really irritated me because her laugh had the impression of insulting and mocking us. I was just standing there quietly and not answering because a) I was afraid that I might say the wrong things and b) I was already pissed off at them, especially the one on the right facing the stage. XP I know, I’m mean, but I really hate it when someone laughs at me/us like that, like we’re stupid. There were four more action plans presented, and two intermission numbers, and in the end DB Canlubang won the best action plan. Come to think of it, though, they were the most unconfident in presenting and had the most number of grammatical errors, but they won. I guess they were that good. Ahaha. But Fr. Inno said that he applauds all of us because it was not a usual activity in the SLA, but we still tried to grasp what was happening and really thought of how to give back to people, like Mayor Abalos.

Happy Birthday, St. John Bosco!
We were running really really late, but at last, we had dinner. Woooohoo!! =)) I was getting really hungry that time. Hahahaha. So we went to the canteen and ate dinner and went back to our quarters to rest for a while. We changed into our costume for our presentation and headed to the gym for the Living Rosary. Then it was time for the Interaction Night. We were the first to perform. Waaaaaaaah. We didn’t get to use the face paint because we had no time.  Tsk. But we still managed to give a good performance . . . Hehehe! Weeeee! Then the boys of DB Tarlac (I think? Or was it Pampanga? Or Makati? Oops. I forgot.) performed a dance number, then we proceeded to the game Human Bingo. Two of the delegates asked me to sign the “magaling sumayaw” box, and I was like, “Oh, come on!!” =)))))))) The 2nd one said, “Lahat ng Caritas magaling sumayaw!” Awwww. :))))) Unfortunately, I didn’t get *toooot* to sign my “the one who caught your attention” box :((((( Dang it! There was a cute guy there, his name is Gelo. But I didn’t get his surname, dang it! =))) Sigh. XD Ahaha. After that was the midnight talk by Fr. Dranz Nolasco, I think. He talked about +20. It made me think, actually. Like if I’m gonna fulfill my promise to myself in 20 years. But he said, focus on the present. XP After that we had another game called the Handicapped Game. I was mute and deaf so I was the one who had to look for our groupmates. Hahaha. It was cut for a while for the countdown to St. John Bosco’s birthday. Oh yes! Fireworks! \m/ Awesome. Haha. And then we continued the game and went back to the gym for the processing. And finally, we said good night to all! x)

Sleep?
We went back to our quarters. We changed into our sleeping clothes and prepared for, well, sleep. It was around half past 1 in the morning. Then at around 3a.m. I woke up because it was sooooo cooold in our room! Plus, the aircon was right in front of me, and I was using my blanket as a pillow ‘cause I forgot Poopsie! ;( So I used it as a blanket and had no pillow. At around 4a.m. I found Tr. Jean awake (she slept beside me) and then we shared blankets ahahaha :))))) ‘Cause she had no blanket. Awwww. Then we woke up at around 5, and the others started waking up at 5:30 because of Michelle’s alarm. Hahahaha! They headed to the showers to, well, take a bath and freshen up. I just stayed in the room (Tr. Jean too) because I was still too lazy to take a shower. Ahaha! Then, we had the laugh yoga in the gym. It was sort of weird XD And then we had breakfast. And finally, I took a shower. Lolz. :)))))) Ahh, the freshness. Then we headed to the auditorium for the mass. It was an auditorium: it was cold and the seats were super comfy, so I couldn’t help but drift off there . . . Oops! Lack of sleep. Actually, a lot of us slept right there. O______O I felt so guilty. Wahahaha. I tried to open my eyes but there were times that they would just shut . . . Tsk tsk. But I loved the priest’s homily. ;)

I Hate This Part
Right after that was the closing ceremony. Waaaa :((((( Fr. Inocencio said a few words first. And he also asked all the SC’s of all the DB settings to come up on stage XD Weeeeeee! It felt awesome. Hehehe! :D And then they gave me certificate and other tokens of appreciation to all the settings, and the video made by Paolo was shown. But it wasn’t Paolo who did it, it was Ricardo Talento! Hahahahaha! =))))) Fail. XDXD We sang Live the Dream and danced Make a Stand (ahem, ahem) for the last time then said goodbye . . . Awwwwww!! We headed to the canteen for our last lunch there . . . Then we packed our bags and started to go to the bus. Some bought shirts. Tsk. :)) I didn’t buy any because there were no SLA shirts. Aww. Haha. And then we headed back home, a.k.a. CDBS. Awwww, goodbye DB Manda! Thank you for a very nice stay during the SLA! Ascende Superius! :)

Hell Week, 1st Quarter

Monday
Wasn't really hectic yet, although we did practice for the SLA a bit, and also for Filipino, but didn't achieve much, and we were having a hard time because we won't be in school on Monday and Tuesday next week. Man . . . Oh! Paige and I explained the Dirt Trap project. Hehehe. It felt good to be onstage as a leader. Lolz. We took a picture of the red carpet, I mean dirt trap, in the middle of the Cimatti Dome and high school building. Weeeee!

Tuesday
Shooting for IT!! :) I had the whole idea made . . . Love song, Kenneth and Romnee as Christian and Lauren, prelude to our Physics movie . . . Damn!! But actually, we're supposed to do a religious song music video. That's because we "didn't complain" so Miyazaki and Nakatsu are doing a modern music video which really, really, really made me bitter, among other things. XP Anyway, so when I learned that Romnee is going to the PSAAB that day, I was completely horrified, but at least we had a back-up plan. Kenneth and I shot our scenes during Physics time while I shot Krippen and Dada after dismissal in SJV 1. So that's pretty much it for that day. Oh! We also practiced for the SLA, but not much. Haha!

Wednesday
Last quiz in Calculus. Weeeeeeee! XP And then we had our practice again during lunch time. We were also supposed to have our practice the period after lunch, but the Miyazaki peeps are going to have their quiz in Calculus that time so practice was cancelled. Then I was supposed to attend the YES meeting, but it turned out that the meeting was postponed to give way for the orientation for the new recruits of YES. And then my sister has a practice for their Music, I think, so I stayed and waited for them. At first I was with Jonina, but she also had practice with Miyazaki also for Music, so I was all alone. T__T And then Tr. Jean came and we had a "talk." I can't really say anything about it except that I learned a lot and felt better after that. ;) (Walang magsasabi, baka ma-flatter!! :)))

Thursday
We didn't attend the SLA practices that day for our Music presentation. We performed Ambo, and we were the only group that performed a tragedy. -.- So out of place. :)) One group performed a debut thingy, another presented a story of a girl torn between her best friend and her boyfriend (who had a coma for a long time), and the last even did a remake of Strangers, Again! Ahem, ahem. :)) Yep. That's about it for Thursday.

Friday
We had practices from lunch until 6 in the afternoon O_O Wew. But we went back to Chofu for the Listening Test first. Sad to say, my comprehension skills were not in shape at that time. But that would count as lucky considering the fact that Tr. Ching would give you minus points if you don't follow her instructions: a) one space after each number, b) all capital letters (when answering), and c) no erasures. Poor Darren and Levy ;( Wew. After that we returned to the practices, until 6. Weeeew! Danielle, Michelle, Shekinah and I rode the tricycle going to Paseo and then our dad fetched us going home. I didn't do anything school-related that day once I got home . . . I just slept. And it felt awesome.

Saturday
You think our hell week stopped that Friday? That we had time to rest the whole weekend and had fun on Monday and Tuesday? Oh, hell to the no! We had to practice the whole day in school. We finally finished the concept and learning the steps, but the action. Oh, the action plan. Emi and I went to Estates 2 and worked with Regina, Micah and Patrick, but sad to say, nothing was truly accomplished. We left at around 5:30 and hoped for the best. Once I got home, I started editing our music video in IT. It only took me 2 hours to finish, and for me that means failure, not at all astounding. But it was sort of presentable, and I was happy that that's one less work load to worry about. XP

Sunday
Another day of practice, but this time in Estates 2, since we weren't allowed to go to school on Sundays. We did our costumes in the morning. And then all of a sudden, it rained. -.- We were almost supposed to let Paige and some guys buy in Jollibee (because they were still in National Book Store that time to buy the face paint), but thankfully, the rain stopped. We walked to Paseo for lunch. :D I was with Margie, Raffy, Emi, Michie, Vielka, Paolo and Pam. We ate at Shakey's. Fun fun fun :))) Ahahahaha. Yeah. xD And then we practiced the dance during the afternoon until 4. My sister and I hitched with Norlene, along with Chai and Mariel, and we stayed at Chai's house for a little while, before Norlene and her dad dropped my sister and me at DB church. (Thank you for the ride!) We had mass and then went to Paseo to buy some things. We headed to McDo for dinner, and at 7/11 to buy snacks for the following day. XD When I got home, Emi and Raffy were going to Meg's house to finish the action plan. I didn't help much because I was still finishing my Drafting project. And then I prepared my things. Weeew! I learned that the boys left Meg's house at around half past 11. Man. O.O

Yeah, so that's it for last week. For hell week. 7 days of pure madness :(( But thank goodness it's done . . . For now.

First week of August 2011 (Update) :)

Monday (Aug. 1, 2011). Submission of Physics project! Haha! Yes, that was all I really remembered. I looked at my planner and learned that I had finished making the tentative script for Physics on July 1. Hehehe! That's how I really like this project and our project for the 2nd quarter. Ahaha! :P Yeah. Hmm, what else happened? Oh! Micah and I did the English assignment. We were supposed to make a video but quickly realized that it's too hard so we should make a powerpoint instead, and then when we got to her house we made a video again. >:) But not like a skit thing. Haha. Basta. :P We were really excited for that.

Tuesday (Aug. 2, 2011). It was supposed to be our meeting with DB Manda's SC for the SLA. We were all set! We didn't bring any school-related materials for the day. We were excited to go to Sir Chris and go to Mandaluyong. And then . . . what the heck. Kuya Ronnie told us that classes in NCR are suspended, and after trying to contact the place, someone had answered Joanna, and it was confirmed that there will be no meeting for the day. Like what in the world?! We didn't bring anything and now we have to go back to our classrooms looking like fools because we don't have any school stuff with us? :( But after minutes and minutes of whining, we finally went back to our classrooms (because Sir Chris was starting to get angry, hehe). So I alone entered my classroom looking stupid . . . Dang it. :)) I sat in Lu's place for the rest of the day. He was absent, so it's okay. Hahaha. Wew. . . . Nakakahiya lang talaga ehhh. :P

Wednesday (Aug. 3, 2011). So Natsuki wasn't with us for the day because she and the rest of the Japanese peeps in the exchange student program went shopping. :O Fun much? Hahaha! Hmmmm . . . Nothing much happened . . . We continued our GT painting. So my mine looks crappier than before. :(( Dang it! The white paint's all murdered now because of me. :)))) But I'm still looking for more. Tsk! Sigh . . . And then we had a YES meeting for the activities . . . Yeah. :D

Thursday (Aug. 4, 2011). Thank God! You know, in the whole five days of school week this week, this day was the only one where the sun was brightly shining. Guess He really wanted us to meet for SLA! :D (Link to the journey here) And then, once we had arrived back at CDBS, we headed to Sir Chris's office. We were tasked to do different things for the preparation of the induction the following day. Janelle and I stayed in his office to make the signs for the officers. We did that for one whole hour. Yeeeeeey. :))))) After that we and Inah headed to the gym to prepare for their coming. :)) When I passed by Chofu I saw that they were taking the Physics quiz already X_X I excused myself to Tr. Jean because we still had to prepare. Sigh. And then I proceeded to the gym, and practiced with all the officers of all organizations of the high school department. (Except Chofu, because they were still taking the quiz -.-) We also talked a bit about the SLA with them. And I tell you, it felt pretty weird that just about two hours before that moment we were in DB Manda, taking the tour with their student council and discussing the SLA with them. Haha. Yeah. :P We went home after that.

Friday (Aug. 5, 2011). The day of the induction. All the officers were called to the Suginami Hall play area because the elem peeps were still in the gym for the mass. We ESC officers were given our sashes. I was sooo proud to wear it! Haha. :D We've been planning for this since May! :P :))))) Yes. Hahaha. :D At the end of the mass we had the picture taking :D I dunno if Joanna has already uploaded it, but I will post them here when I get them! Or, at least, the pictures that I'm included in. HAHA. =)) During lunch time Meg, Emi, Joanna, Paige and I had our quiz in Physics since we didn't get to take it the day before. We took it in the guidance office. It was hard :(( XP Haha! Then at club time we had the meeting for the SLA with all the delegates for our presentation. Wew! :P

So the pictures are finally uploaded by Joanna! Hehehe! :D

We're officially inducted! :D:D Woohoo!!

Caritas ESC meets SC Manda! x) (2011)

It was a bit gloomy when I woke up . . . I prepared for the meeting, then our service fetched us . . . I took a nap . . . And then, I was awakened by the sun's bright rays shining on my face. It was like it had never rained the past three days. Haha! The usual routine for Thursday mornings, assembly and flag raising and morning prayer. After we went back to our classrooms I went out . . . Aww, goodbye Chofu . . . (for real this time! For more details on that, I shall post a different blog. :>) The Miyazaki peeps were still having their morning talk thing . . . When we were complete (except for Pambid and Chelsea) we stepped onto the van and headed to DB Manda. Yey!

So I sat between Emi and Meg at the front (pero hindi yung mismong tabi ni Kuya Ronnie, si Sir Chris yun), Joanna and Paige behind us, and then Danielle, Janelle, Inah and Giselle at the back. I remembered the SciDama :)) But no more Jericho this time. KINUHA NA TALAGA NI LORD! :O Haha! Inside joke. Anyway, it was actually a longer trip to go there than I remembered when I first went there for the SYALA with a bunch of other peeps. Luckily this time we were riding the van, and it wasn't siksikan. Hahaha!

Finally we arrived at the place. It was pretty good to go back to that place again (and then I'll come back there again for the 3rd time on the SLA). We went inside the ODEA Office and waited while their SC officers were being called. We went out to the sort of terrace thing and saw their ginormous swimming pool, and their college building. It was pretty cool! Waaaah. :)) After that we settled back to our seats. About two or three high school students, along with their SC adviser, came in. We started the prayer, which was a powerpoint presentation about learning to LET GO of things you don't need anymore (which really gave me enlightenment, haha). It was read by their PRO named Dan. :) And then their president had arrived and started to read the agenda for the day. They explained things about the SLA and stuff. It got me excited but also nervous, because we were tasked to do a LOT of things. :-SS

We had a thirty-minute break. I ate Pizza Pedrico's for the first time . . . Hahaha! Even though CDBS has Pizza Pedrico's too. :)) When the break was over we had an introduction, like what you do on the first day of school. It was actually pretty fun! x) They were just kalog like us. :))) There's someone whose name's Dennis! Ahahaha! :P Oh, and guess what: one of them's captain of the football team, two of them are in the dance club and one is the president, another one is the swim team captain, and then one's a commercial model and an actor. Dang! And they also told us that Santino and Dyesebel shot some of their scenes at DB Manda and they also saw Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson! Saya nila! :))

After were acquainted with one another and the ice was broken, the meeting continued. It was shorter, and we finished about an hour and a half earlier than scheduled. (But maybe it was also because we arrived thirty minutes earlier than scheduled.) So they asked us if we wanted to take a tour of their school . . . And of course we agreed! We didn't want to go back yet! And they didn't too! Hahahahaha! :))))

So we took a tour, starting with the paintings outside the ODEA office. Miggy/Migz, their president, spoke first. And Rodnie too! XD They said the mirror there is sort of haunted . . . Joanna and Paige were scared because they took a picture with it and fixed their hair using it! Hahahaha! Although if they are acting, it's quite scary . . . X_X Hehehe. We saw their vice president who was late because he was taking a quiz :)) Fail. Then Rodnie told me I looked familiar because he thought he saw me in the SYALA . . . Yehey!! xD Oh, and did you know that they were sorted into 6 different specialties? Versiglia is for science, Variara for technical arts I think, Rinaldi for electronics . . . and three more sortings. :)) I just forgot. :P Hahaha. Isn't that cool?! It's like Hogwarts! O______________O

And then, when we entered the hallway of the high school classrooms, we felt its coldness right away! O______O Super aircon. Hahaha. Daaaang. O_______O And they even have an auditorium :( We didn't go inside though 'cause it was at the topmost floor haha. And this was the nakakabitter part: we saw their Student Council Office. :'(((( They have their own PA! Wew! Oh, and their assemblies are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Savio Quadrangle, and their always at the 2nd/3rd floor of the building in front of it because they make announcements. Damn! They apologized for their office because it wasn't neat, and we were like, "Ok lang at least kayo may office!" :)) Yeap. Nakakabitter. x)

Then we passed by the college buildings. And then we took one last picture with them (cause we've been taking group pictures every now and then xD) and said our goodbyes. It wasn't really goodbye though, because we'll see each other again about a week from now. Haha! Yeah. They're really nice! :) If you get to spend some time with them, you'll enjoy being with them too. :P :D

We stopped by Walter Mart and ate at Jollibee for lunch. Yeah . . . Sorry Sir Randy, we had no choice, Sir Chris made us! Lolz. :)) When we got back to the van Kuya Ronnie had bought electric fans. :))))) xD Haha! So Emi sat with Joanna and Paige on the way home. We were talking about our SLA presentation for a while . . . and then we simmered back to quietness. I didn't want to go back to school yet. :)) Sigh. . . .

The rest of the day is to be continued . . . :)
