Orientation
I woke up this morning in a . . . I-don't-know-how-to-describe-it mood. I feel excited yet afraid, but for two different reasons. :P Anyways, we woke up early today, unlike yesterday, we woke up at 5am, and we only had about 30 minutes to prepare. [ By the way, sorry I didn't blog yesterday. I was too tired and had other things to do. ] Today we had a whole hour before the service came.
When I got to school, Christine was there. We talked and then Jonina came, and then Vielka and Michelle and Hanna. And then we all went to our line and went to the corridor of the labs to wait for the flag ceremony. After that we went back to our classroom and had our prayer, and Sir Toby gave us the schedule for our subject orientation today. First subject: Drafting.
Tr. Benny was our teacher again. She tried to recall our names. Then she said she missed Chico. HAHAHA! :))) We don't. =)) Then she told us what we're going to study for the whole year. Calligraphy!! Wow. I'm excited but nervous for that. We're going to use the thing called speedball pen. Last year dad asked me if we were using that, I said no. Now we are. Maybe I can have him help me! Hooray for my dad being an architect. XD
Next subject: CLVE. Yesterday we thought Sir Allan was our teacher, but it turns out he left the school, so Sir Carlos is our teacher. He showed us pictures of Bohol. :)) We saw a tarsier, and chocolate hills, and the hanging bridge, and Bohol Beach Club. Haven't gone to BBC yet. I hope we'll stay there when we get back to Bohol. I miss Bohol. :D
Next subject: Chemistry. I was very scared when Tr. Tina walked into the room. But all of that changed in a minute! I forgot how, but she really made all of us laugh. She said some teachers have been mentioning Carlo and Stephan to her. :)) And then she said we should familiarize ourselves with the periodic table of elements already. How? Oh, I love this part. XDXDXD She said we should think of our crush - I kept smiling once I heard that :)) - and then look at the periodic table, so we should be inspired. That is very true. Inspiration is a great thing. :D Then, she said, after we look at the table, we should pray, so that God will guide us. I will never ever forget that! I love that technique. :D
Next in line is Geometry. Sir Chet! Yey! He's still with us. :D It's still pretty much the same with him, plus five points for the first three students who finish the seatwork, and the seatworks and quizzes and quarterly tests are all interconnected. The recitation grading changed. For each recitation chit, there is an equivalent grade. 100% is equal to 7 chits. Oh yeah. 7. XD :)) Then the fourth quarter is the same as last year, but we have a journal now. I guess that's a good thing so the teachers know how we feel. :D
Next to Geometry was Trigonometry. We have a new teacher, Tr. Oyette. Sir Noel Juan isn't our teacher. I thought he'd be but he isn't. Hahaha. :P Tr. Oyette gave us two of the topics we'll be discussing. They're all about angles and triangles and those kind of stuff . . . I have to prepare myself for Math again! :)) We also have the compilation of quizzes, and a journal for our reflections. Whew! Then, Recess!
We talked about Aivette and Klariza again. :) It's Aivette's first day in St. Scho! ;) Aivette, talk to me, too! :)) Also Christine, Vielka and Jonina told us that our English teacher will still be Tr. Ching. And it's just us Mirabello. For Mornese and Turin it'll be the new English teacher, Tr. Enzo. Woo we're unique, yey . . . :)) By the way our subject after Recess was English.
Tr. Ching, um, my first impression of her? Since it's our first time we met her and we're so lucky . . . :)) Her requirements are the same as last year. :P Hmm, maybe this will be an advantage. During the contests, Tr. Ching will help only us! Hahaha!! =)) Just kidding. =))
Up next is Social Studies! Our teacher is Sir Renz. I was very very very fascinated by him. He talked about Noynoy running for president, Marcos being a good guy, Cory not actually winning the elections against Marcos. Golly, he knows a lot of stuff! :)) Seriously. I was so into his discussions that I kept nodding and my mouth was hanging as my brain gathered the information he was giving us. There were so many things we didn't know! And his voice will really draw you into what he's saying. WOW!! That's all I can say about him. He seems nice, too. After that, I got really excited for our Social Studies session on Tuesday. And trust me, this is the first time I ever said that. :))
Then Tr. Mirose (that's pronounced as "my rose"), our Filipino teacher, walked in the room. She said she was also our co-adviser. Cool! Again, during contests, she will help only us! >:))) Kidding again. :)))) We will be discussing Noli Me Tangere, and she said the continuation of that is the El Filibusterismo, so we really have to understand the story. Then she said for our fourth quarter project we might have a stage play. Oh, wicked cool! :D:D I wanna be a director! :)) I hope that'll push through! And that's it for Filipino. And then, lunch! :D
We ate at Canteen 1. I didn't eat. The Mornese peeps (Jonina, Vielka and Christine) were coloring their tigers for Chemistry. After that, Christine and Jonina went upstairs while Michelle, Hanna, Vielka and I walked through the first floor corridor. We saw Sir Leo (at least I think that's Sir Leo) but at first we thought he was Sir Jhun. Haha! I'm gonna miss Sir Jhun.
Then Tr. Anna went to us to discuss Music. She said there will be a CDBS Chorale, and it'll be an institution I think, so that everyone from any club can join. That's pretty much the only thing I remembered that she said. XD Oh, she said we'll be discussing Japanese music again this year. I think. I don't know. I was too busy playing with my pen. . . .
After that Sir Toby came to us to discuss GT. Okay, so first quarter is all about electronics, and our project for that will be a night switch. It automatically switches on at night and off during the day. Cool! Then for the second quarter it's all about art. Great. Second quarter strikes again. It's my weakest quarter, and it proves to be again. :)) Our project? Oil on canvas, I think? What am I going to paint? My crush? HAHAHA! :)) Then Sir Toby said once we make a mistake on the canvas, we have to start all over again, or put another color in it, but then it'll look messy. So we have to be careful! X_X Then third quarter is culinary arts. Yes!! We'll bake some cookies! I've honestly never tried baking before, so this'll be my first time. :D Then for the fourth quarter it's about business management, and sir said we'll make a baby thesis. No, not again! :)) And then he said he's proud because we have "veterans" for every sport or competition, and because the other teachers said we're a very good section, and he feels that we're the most organized (?) section. He's biased, of course, but I'm gonna take it. :))))
Then, Tr. Ann, our teacher for PE and Health. I was scared for her, too. But I think she's really nice. And she's proud every time she learns that her student becomes a successful person, and she feels good when her student looks for her after she graduates. Then she said she was strict when she needs to be but she's a friendly person. Whew, I'm excited and nervous for PE too! And she's strict on ponytails! Haha!
And last but not the least is Sir Andy for IT. It kind of felt weird because I was used to him being our GT teacher. Haha. Anyway, we're all about Photoshop and those kind of stuff. He said we're going to enjoy the animations, so I'm excited for that. :D And he said that after we graduate, the Sophomores will be taught photo editing. Nooooooooooooooooo! We want to learn that too. T____T And then he said Mira and Mornese will have Japanese students, I think. They're exchange students. That is so cool. x) I'm excited for that!
Then, dismissal! YEY! :D:D:D:D And that's it for my school day.
Season finale of Glee today, by the way. I love their songs. Go Sue! :D
